Sensei Ross Jones began training karate under the instruction of Sensei Mandie Read 5th Dan since he was 9 years old. He has competed at both National and International Level wining Gold’s, Silver’s and Bronze awards at both levels. At the age of 15, Ross moved to Germany to live and took up karate out there. As there was no Shukokai karate clubs in his area, he took up Shotokan karate.

Out in Germany, Ross trained with the 9 times British Army Champion and Combined Services Champion, Sensei Brian Hall 4th Dan, where he obtained his 1st Dan in Shotokan Karate and competed many times.

With Ross returning to England every few months he was able to keep up his Shukokai karate as well as his Shotokan and as such, achieved his 2nd Dan in Shukokai under the examination of Sensei Mandie Read. Shortly after, Sensei Ross was awarded his 2nd Dan in Shotokan Karate.

In the year 2007, Sensei Ross opened his own club here in Gütersloh where he teaches Shotokan karate to the local public.
