Club Instructor

1st Dan

Association Judge

Sensei Rhys Jones began his training under the instruction of Sensei Mandie Read (5th Dan) when he was 6 years old studying the art of Shukokai Karate. Over the years of training with Mandie, Rhys has competed in National and International events winning Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.

At the age of 11 years, Rhys moved to Germany to live where he carried on learning karate. As there were no Shukokai Karate clubs in the area, Rhys relied on his brother (Sensei Ross Jones) to keep training him in the hope that one day he could achieve his 1st Dan Black Belt.

Rhys joined a shotokan karate club out in Germany under the instruction of Sensei Brian Hall 5th Dan. Since that time, Rhys has gained his 3rd Kyu in Shotokan karate.

In August 2008, Rhys was on holiday in the UK where Sensei Mandie Read told him that he was going to sit his 1st Dan grading.

After a year of training under Sensei Brian Hall, Rhys trained under the instruction of his brother, Sensei Ross Jones in Gütersloh Karate Club.

In 210 Sensei Ross moved back to the UK and Sensei Rhys took over the instruction of the club.
